Ken
and
Sandy
are in
Athens,
Greece
as the
guests
of
George
Pappas,
chief
of
Global's
office
in
that
country.
The
two
young
reporters
are to
meet
Richard
Holt
later
on in
Venice,
Italy.
While
in
Athens,
he
shows
them
the
Golden
Key on
display
in a
museum.
While
viewing
the
ancient
artifact,
it is
brazenly
stolen!
Shortly
after,
Sandy
and
Ken
are
lost
while
walking
the
streets,
and
are
assaulted
by
local
thugs.
If not
for
the
timely
intervention
of
Antonio
Domenico
Ragusa,
serious
injury
could
have
resulted.
Is
their
benefactor
more
than
what
he
claims
to be
? He
shows
them
more
of
Athens'
sites
and
Sandy
purchases
a
Turkish
scimitar,
purportedly
one
formerly
belonging
to a
Sultan.
The
peddler
who
sells
it may
have
been
involved
in the
attack
the
night
before,
as
evidenced
by his
bandaged
wrist.
The
two
intrepid
youths
leave
Athens
for
the
next
leg of
their
journey
to
Venice.
The
S.S.
Istria
is
their
means
of
transportation,
and
will
travel
up the
Greek
coast
on the
Ionian
Sea on
its'
way to
the
Adriatic
Sea
and
Italy.
Thinking
they
had
left
their
problems
behind,
it is
soon
apparent
that
it is
not
so. A
newspaper
clipping
dealing
with
the
theft
of the
Golden
Key,
is
stolen
from
Ken
and
Sandy's
stateroom.
Then
they
are
approached
by
Greek
police
while
in an
Ionian
port.
Or are
they ?
To top
things
off,
one of
their
fellow
passengers,
Miss
Burton
the
librarian,
is
acting
in a
suspicious
manner.
How
things
come
to a
head
and
the
frantic
battle
that
ensues,
makes
"The
Mystery
of the
Sultan's
Scimitar"
one of
Ken
and
Sandy's
most
interesting
cases.
Their
last
too !
